A power of attorney is a document you can use to appoint someone to make decisions on your behalf, including transferring real estate, transferring property, signing contracts, handling money and managing bank accounts. This is critical if the person on whose behalf you are trying to act is out of town or out of the country. For partners who travel a lot, this is critical for peace of mind. The person you designate is called an "attorney-in-fact." The appointment can take effect right away or can become effective only if you cannot make decisions on your own.

Our lawyers are standing by to discuss the pros and cons of various Texas corporate structures, what each of them means from a liability perspective, and what is the best suited to your business. Once you've made a decision, we will draft and file the necessary paperwork and get you on your way to running your new company. We incorporate in New York, Colorado, and Texas. We can help you set up the following entities:

  • S corporations
  • C corporations
  • Limited liability companies (LLCs)
  • Public benefit corporations
  • Limited partnerships
  • Statutory trusts
  • General partnerships

When a company unwinds, it is important to properly notify the State and take appropriate steps to protect you and any other stakeholders. Our firm will talk you through what needs to be done to dissolve a company and help you get it done.
