I arrived in the United States at eighteen as a first-generation citizen, with four suitcases (three were filled with books) and a boyfriend (whom I quickly married). I attended the University of Houston Honors College and law school, graduating in 2008. I have written and taught a variety of subjects over the years and continue to do so prolifically. I started businesses, ran businesses, and co-founded businesses. I bring business acumen, legal savvy, and scientific literacy to every project. Why Me?
I am a seasoned litigator, with over thirteen years of experience in the legal field, where I've had the privilege of representing clients in federal and state courts across the country. My legal journey began in 2008 when I graduated from law school, and it has taken me through a diverse array of roles and challenges. I've spent five years at a prestigious Big Law firm, where I honed my legal skills and had the opportunity to work on multibillion-dollar cases. This experience gave me a deep understanding of high-stakes corporate litigation and the complexities involved in such matters.
In addition to my time at Big Law, I also dedicated several years to a plaintiffs' firm, where I passionately advocated for justice in cases ranging from False Claims Act violations to addressing issues related to sexual assault, civil rights, and commercial disputes. It was during this time that I truly realized the profound impact that legal battles can have on the well-being, safety, and vindication of my clients.
My journey, however, is not limited to the courtroom. I am also an academic and a scientist. I earned an LLM in Space, Cyber & Telecommunications law, and I hold a doctorate in Space Law. More recently, I completed a Bachelor's degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, with a Minor in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. Currently, I am a Ph.D. Candidate in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Colorado - Boulder, where I am conducting research at the intersection of law, population genomics, and ethics. My work in conservation genetics seeks to redefine our understanding of ecological sustainability.
Beyond my academic and legal achievements, I have a wealth of experience in the legal field that includes running law firms, overseeing multibillion-dollar cases, and successfully closing seven-digit deals. My leadership skills extend not only to my personal legal practice but also to the management and direction of other law firms.
